The NNA is now the largest group of Nertz players in existence. Nertz Players from around the globe have contributed to the National Nertz Association's cause by joining at least one of the many NNA groups available on the web. These NNA groups are all completely free to join and exist only to keep the Nertz playing community connected. We recommend that Nertz players join our Main member group on Facebook, but if you prefer another way to stay connected we have few other options for you. (Listed Below)
You can also find smaller extensions of the NNA on Facebook Groups, Google Groups, MySpace Groups, YouTube Groups, Flickr Groups, Photobucket Groups, and Free Forums. As of February 1st, 2009, our NNA MSN group was removed when MSN decided to no longer provide Group features to its members.
More NNA information can be found on Windows Live Spaces, Blogger, Xanga (Here), Wikipedia, Pagat, Veoh, MyLot, Cafepress, Polldaddy, AOL Games, BoardGameGeek, Amapedia, Urban Dictionary, Meebo, Multiply, and the Open Directory Project(to name a few). As of July 1st, 2009, our Yahoo! 360 page was closed when Yahoo! decided not to offer the 360 service anymore.
We hope you will continue to help our cause by joining the NNA, letting your friends and family know about us, or just by giving a link to playnertz.com.
Out of 853 NNA facebook group members that we sent the Location Survey to, exactly 103 people responded. That is almost 12% of the group and was more than we expected to respond. By the way, we would like to thank everyone that represented their respective Nertz territories.
Of the 103 that responded, there were approximately 74 females and 29 males, give or take a few names that are common for both sexes. But the gals definitely represented harder than the guys.
The multiple territories that a few members listed in addition to their initial locations were not tallied but they were noted.Only the initial locations were counted.Of the 103 replies only one came from beyond the U.S., though not far. That reply stated that Nertz was being played in Mexico.
In this survey, 32 states were represented, which means 18 were not.Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia had no NNA members represent them.
The state that had the most players represent was none other than TEXAS. They had 13 of the 103 members that responded.Coming closely in second was California with 11 members.Minnesota came in third with 6 members. Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Ohio, and South Carolina tied for fourth each having 5 members.
It should be noted that of the 18 states not represented in this survey, we now know by looking at the listed networks on our NNA facebook member list, that at least 12 of those states have NNA members currently residing and playing Nertz in them.
The states still in question in our NNA member facebook group are West Virginia, Vermont, Alaska, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Maine.
In the past, the NNA has received emails from various Nertz players that play in all of these states, but our NNA facebook group members have yet to represent them. To prove that the NNA has blanketed the U.S. we still need to verify that there are members in the remaining 6 states.
The NNA and the game of Nertz have become international. We have found members and players from all over the world. Here are a few countries that have been reported to have some hardcore Nertz players in them. Ukraine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Australia, Mexico, England, Denmark, Canada, Russia, Swaziland, Germany,France, Turkey, Botswana , China, Poland, New Zealand, Greenland, Switzerland,Kenya, Israel, Ghana, Czech Republic, and Brazil to name a few.
If all of our members would have replied, by our estimates, California, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, South Carolina, Minnesota, Georgia, and Utah would have the states with the highest NNA member counts. Also, the Ukraine would have a high percentage within the NNA member base as well.Feel free to continue to represent, if you think your state or country didn’t get enough love. You can continue to represent by posting on our wall, posting comments below, or by sending the NNA messages.

As the holidays pass, the game of Nertz remains one of our favorite traditions. This beloved game and its player following has never been stronger, and we can credit this progression to the growing member base of the National Nertz Association and its online haven that continually unites Nertz players everywhere, Playnertz.com. In January 2009, Playnertz.com will be 2 years old, and we at PlayNertz.com are extremely pleased with the growth and direction of this website thus far. This site has given a voice to passionate Nertz players across the globe and has helped solidify the game's place amidst the greatest card games ever played.
PlayNertz.com provides others with Nertz rules, variations, history, terminology, informative links, photos, video, merchandise, computer versions, chat, forums, groups, events, research, and more.
With that said, there is much more to come. The future is bright for the game of Nertz, and as we grow, the possibilities for this game's journey to a national spotlight are abundant.
Hello Nertz fans! Well, Nertz has been on the rise since summer hit. I can only assume that friends and families get some quality Nertz action in on their summer vacations. My family, friends, and I have gotten in on the action as well. We played some very entertaining games while we were together and it seemed that the teams we had set each game turned out to be pretty even match-ups. I won some and lost some. Nobody really dominated the table like in past games. I don't know if that means we are getting better or worse but we still look fast to me. I love that our family is so into Nertz. It seems to be in our blood.
Nertz Online Updates: I have been playing Solitaire Race on AOL.games like a beast lately. For those that don't know Solitaire Race is basically Nertz online. It is free and all you need to do is sign up for an AOL account to play. Totally worth it! Anyways, in my opinion it is the best Nertz game online...if you have a good, clean computer and connection. If you don't you may get frustrated with the lag. But you experience absolutely zero lag otherwise. When I get some time I want to organize a Nertz tournament online using Solitaire Race. So leave a comment if you would like in on the action.
Solitaire Showdown on Windows Live Messenger is also really fun. It is only a two player game though. Lastly, Nerts High Speed Card Game is a cool game as well but it is not free. However, it is reasonably priced. I have posted some demo videos of these games at playnertz.com on the "Nertz Videos" Page. Which brings me to my next subject...
PlayNertz.com Updates: There is a Nertz Forum link at the bottom of the home page. If you have any comments questions, stories, or information for your fellow Nertz players feel free to post them there. You do not have to log in to the forum to post anything. There is also an Event box on our main page. To have your nertz tournament or event posted there just send a link to support@playnertz.com . The same thing goes for getting pictures, links, videos, or other information. You can also use our contact us form on the site.
Well that's it for now. Keep an eye out for new Nertz info here, playnertz.com, and our NNA groups.
